Dear Traveller
Journeys are remembered for the good things you didn’t expect, rather than the ones you did. For us, our current journey ended (and a new one began) when we found Brunton House. It was all the more special for us because it was unexpected, as we hope it will be for you.

Built circa 1870 by a prominent draper, Mr James Marshall, Brunton House has also been home to three Thames Mayors and is named after one of them. Entering the house is like taking a step back in time to the age of colonial elegance. Ceilings that soar above, wood panelling, stained glass, picture bay windows, spaces to relax and make new friends, and spaces for quiet contemplation. Yet for all that Brunton House is primarily our home.
Guest accomodation comprises 4 large guest rooms (two with attached sitting rooms) and 2 private guest bathrooms. There is also a comfortable guest lounge and grounds covering one and a half acres complete with mature trees, a pool and tennis court.

Rates are from $NZ160 double/share twin (prices include GST) per night including cooked and/or continental breakfast.

If you haven’t tried the bed-and-breakfast experience, you’re welcome to pop in and check out the facilities before you make up your mind. But a word of warning - you won’t want to leave.
We look forward to welcoming you into our home.
